Life on Top of Hyde Park



Tokyo Love-In (Michael K. Chin)
Influenced by extensive travels, jamming with J-Pop bands and Bhangarra bands, Tokyo Love-In produces a unique, sophisticated sound combining live Eastern improvisation, Global beats and Western ‘electronic Jazz’.
With a collaborative approach to his music Tokyo Love-In works across musical genres and art forms to produce visually creative stage shows. His shows feature live musicians from around the world & electronic beats, combined with synchronized visuals & anime projected on to massive screens.
In a new work, ‘Life on Top of Hyde Park’ - Tokyo Love-In collaborated with Pete Longworth (photographer) & Chris Baron (film maker) and were the feature artists on 
Australia Day 2010 at Sydney’s Hyde Park.
The work culminated
 in a multimedia piece featuring a public gallery space, massive outdoor cinematic screen, contemporary dancers, a member of the Tokyo Wind Orchestra and a Steinway grand piano.This work went on to win 2 awards at the New York Independent Film Festival (USA), screened at the Cannes Film Festival (FRA), the End of the Pier International Film Festival (UK).
  Tokyo Love-In’s music features on compilation albums, and film and television soundtracks, with such artists as, Mahmood Khan aka MKF (who has sold over 60 million CDs world-wide).
In 2010, working with Mahmood Khan, they had a No.1 Hit Single in Australia for ‘Like the River’ (ARIA Charts).
Tokyo Love-In has also performed at the Sydney Opera House with Mahmood Khan. Other performances include the FIFA Fan Fest (World Cup Soccer), Buddha’s Day Festival (Melbourne), Natsu Matsuri (Japanese Summer Festival), Holi Festival, The Basement, Apple Store (Sydney), and various venues in London, New York, & Tokyo. 
Tokyo Love-In and his collaborative partners are proudly supported/sponsored by Apple, Nikon, Epson, Gibson Guitars, Rode Microphones, and the Guitar Factory.
